Research
- Conduct research on issues and trends related to the donor’s objectives
- Identify potential charities/initiatives to match donor’s interests
- Undertake confidential, third party research on specific charitable initiatives of interest to the donor anonymously
Due Diligence
- Ensure charity is registered and in good standing with CRA
- Examine annual reports as well as current and past financial statements
- Review current and past members of the board of directors
- Examine website, programs and services of each organization
- Conduct five year analysis of charities that best fit the donor’s needs
- Where feasible, visit the charity’s headquarters and meet with staff, view programs
- Provide confidential summary reports on status of each charity and its ability to manage donor gifts and meet donor’s expectations
